One of the founding pillars of Jack and Jill of America Inc. is community service. We are unique because we are one of the only organizations that unite parents and children in a spirit of stewardship. Our main goal is to provide ALL children with the tools and experiences to become global servant leaders. The Magnificent Mile chapter is committed to the goals of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. by engaging in community partnerships that uplift children in our local community and around the world.
The Magnificent Mile Chapter supports the Jack and Jill of America Foundation national initiatives, including partnerships with the American Heart Association and March of Dimes. Locally the chapter endeavors to support organizations aligned with our mission. As such the chapter has supported the following organizations:
New Moms provide a 2-generation approach to housing, job training, and family support with the mission of assisting moms, ages 24 and under, take powerful steps toward economic mobility and family well being. Magnificent Mile Moms recently contributed to the organization’s Amazon Wish List to provide much-needed supplies for the mothers and children.
Masks for Essential Employees
Magnificent Mile Teens stepped up to the challenge of providing masks for essential employees. In partnership with SPIRITDRIVEN teens joined other chapters across the region in a community service project specific to COVID-19. The teens will choose essential employees to receive the masks in 2021.
Magnificent Mile Teens actively participate in the Double Good Popcorn challenge. Double Good, located in Chicago, offers a time-limited opportunity for youth to raise maximum dollars for their community cause. We’re excited to participate in Double Good as the Magnificent Mile Youth identify what community organizations they will be donating to in 2021. Stay tuned for updates on the challenge in early 2021.
Loose Change Initiative
Magnificent Mile Moms believe in the power of philanthropy. As such we engage children in learning the importance of giving back to the community. Children actively participate in the national Loose Change Initiative. Youth are encouraged to set aside part of their allowance to give back to the community. All community service programs hosted by the Magnificent Mile chapter engages families in giving back to the community.
